One of my all-time favorite cartoon or animation series hails from the Baby Boomer era. It's the original Jonny Quest (1964-65). The title character (voiced by Tim Matheson) travels the world with his scientist father Dr. Benton Quest, young Indian friend Hadji, dog Bandit and bodyguard Roger "Race" Bannon.

One episode is particularly memorable. It's titled "Turu the Terrible" (12/24/64), whereby Jonny and the gang encounter a psychotic old man in a wheelchair who uses a giant pteranodon as his enforcer and "guard dog" at his private lair in the Andes Mountains.

Jonny Quest, catch it on the Boomerang Cartoon Network or DVD...

Without a doubt, Shaun the Sheep is our family favorite!  Technically it is claymation, but still fits the general genre.  Shaun is clever, resourceful, and hilarious!  His theme song is often hummed around our house--we even put our own words to it and have made it the theme song for our family dog (she loves to hear it).

Shaun is the ring leader of a herd of incorrigible sheep that live on a farm in England.  There is a dog who watches the herd, a few pigs who are cantankerous, and the farmer himself who doesn't know about the secret lives of his herd.  The sheep get bored and so they try lots of things for entertainment, all while keeping their antics on the down low.  Of course they all get into lots of trouble, and Shaun manages to barely save the day and restore peace on the farm without the farmer knowing what has happened.

It is entertainment for the young and the young at heart, and has kept us all in stitches!

I highly recommend The Animals of Farthing Wood. I remember watching it when I was a kid and I have fond memories of it. The cartoon series, which is based on the books written by Collin Dan, documents the adventures of different animals in search of a place that they could call home. The cartoon series accurately documents the trials animals face in the real world and it was really heart-wrenching to watch.

The Animals of Farthing Wood may look a bit dated since it was released way back in the 1990s but the story and message that it sends out lives true up to this very day. Watch it and be moved.

I love Tom and Jerry. It's the best cartoon series I have seen so for. Jerry is always bringing smile in my face while taunting Tom with his expressions. It's the best entertainment so for I have.
